It often makes me giggle that I, a sustainable fashion journalist and environmentalist, am a tarot card reader. But when I reflect on the twists and turns my life has taken, I am not surprised that tarot card readings have become a part of my sustainability work and something that I now share with others.
I started tarot as a way to connect to my intuition. In the wake of life-altering circumstances and amidst the painful soul-searching of peering into the void, I knew that there had to be something more.
Connecting to myself through tarot card readings has become an integral part of my sustainability work and what it means to care for myself as a part of the whole.
This is now a part of my offering to the collective.
Honesty Without Compassion is Cruelty
Let’s take a minute to talk about ethics. It is an unspoken law among readers and energy workers that we are to deliver information in a respectful and compassionate way. Any reader who does otherwise, in my opinion, isn’t using their gifts in an appropriate manner.
Readings are a two-way street. For this mutual respect to work, it has to be given and received from both parties. Energy is currency. And while I do charge for my tarot services, the energy exchange is at the heart of the reading. Never second guess your own energy, you are a powerful being beyond measure. In that same breath, I am only able to access what my clients allow. I will not use my energy to tear down their walls, it isn’t respectful and will serve neither of us, leaving both parties feeling exhausted.
No tarot reader or energy worker is going to channel every piece of information about their client or a situation. It is not possible or necessary.
For me, I don’t ever need to know a question asked in a reading. If, at the end of the reading, a client would like to share their question, I invite them to do so. But it is never required.
Take What Resonates Leave the Rest
This goes for me or any other tarot reader, psychic, medium or energy worker you choose to connect with. As a general guideline, do not engage with readers on the internet who slide into those DMs. An honest and professional reader will not solicit you in such a manner.
Do Not Force a Message onto a Situation
Remain open. Similar to yoga, in a way, I invite my clients to connect with the sensations, emotions and feelings that move through you during the reading. You, your soul, your body, your intuition know best and will be giving you pings as to how to apply the information to a situation or question. You will know what feels right, never force a message onto a situation.

Three Card Reading + Oracle Card
This is my go-to. In this tarot reading I pull three cards from the entire 78 cards of the tarot plus a card from an oracle deck. Typically, I choose an oracle deck for my clients based on intuition and the current astrology. In my personal practice, I align with the moon and planets. However, I am not an astrologist and cannot offer a deep dive into astrology, I only know the basics. That being said, I pull three tarot cards, discuss what comes up and use the oracle to supplement the other cards.

Custom Tarot Reading
For this service I work with my clients to build a customized reading that works best for them. This can include several oracles decks, specific tarot decks or card spreads. There are countless tarot card spreads and oracle decks to work with. Together, we will create a custom reading that addresses what is weighing on your heart.

Major Arcana Card Pull
In tarot, there are two houses, the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. Without getting too in the weeds, the Major Arcana contains 22 cards and is viewed as significant wayposts in life. The Minor Arcana contains 4 suits and deals with the more day-to-day aspects of one's life. This Major Arcana reading is a good supplement for the three card and oracle reading or simply on its own if you are going through a major life event and want an overarching energy to keep coming back to as a way to center yourself or remind yourself how far you’ve come.
